We are looking for an experienced enforcement officer, investigator or RMA compliance practitioner to join our Wellington based Environmental Protection Team, in a six month fixed term role to back fill for a team member who is on secondment.

You will be part of a dynamic, outcomes focused team who carry out inspections, investigations, assess compliance with the Resource Management Act 1991 (RMA) and carry out follow-up education, advice and enforcement work as required.  Your time will be divided between responding to incidents, following up your own investigations and assisting with the investigations of other officers.  You will be expected to provide quality assurance on all aspects of other officer's investigations as well as preparing and presenting cases for enforcement decisions.

To succeed in this role you will have:

* Expertise and experience in environmental investigations and enforcement

* An eye for critical detail, risk analysis and an ability to present complex information orally and in writing

You will need to demonstrate:

* The ability to hit the ground running, work under pressure and manage a varied portfolio of work

* A collaborative working style, with experience sharing your ideas and expertise with others

* A broad perspective which may come from the breadth and depth of your experience and may include experience working with councils, central government, private practice/consulting firms, community groups, iwi or volunteers

* A proven track record and a deep expertise and practical experience of implementing the RMA and of successfully delivering to customers
