Manager, Land Management

 

* Leading the integrated management of catchment areas to ensure an inter-agency and community approach to deliver services to meet wide ranging community needs

* Lead the team who provide support for the community to manage a range of land management, catchment schemes and riparian management programmes

* Promote the sustainable use of land within the region by supporting erosion control measures and effective soil management, mitigating nutrient loss from intensive farming practices and protecting and restoring biodiversity

* Bringing alive our purpose of working together for the greater good of our beautiful region through championing an outside-in approach, so that our ratepayers and stakeholders' needs come first

 

The role

We would love to hear from you if you have had deep experience in the application of sustainable land management theory, policy and practice, including knowledge or experience in working with catchment communities. You will have political nous and love leading a team of advisors with a strong level of expertise. You will constantly looking for innovative solutions across your portfolio of responsibilities.

You will bring significant experience working within the agricultural sector and have been leading teams with multi-discipline capability. You will have a proven track record at working at a senior management level to build and grow integrated catchment management strategies and implementing them with the community. 

As a leader in the Greater Wellington Regional Council, your attitude and behaviours will be that of a positive and energetic leader ready to take on any new challenge, role model our relationship values and champion our purpose as we build for an exciting new phase in our role as environmental guardian, community leader and public transport provider, within this large and diverse region.
