Emergency Management Advisor
Interested in making your Wellington region safer and more prepared to respond to an emergency? Civil Defence Emergency Management serves communities across nine cities and districts of the Wellington region.
To complement the talents of the current team, we are looking for the following:
An individual who is passionate about service to our community and emergency preparedness. This is an Emergency Management position that involves developing capability across people, infrastructure, systems, plans and processes. You possess outstanding interpersonal skills and the ability to seek out opportunities to work with stakeholders to enhance operational readiness. You will have the opportunity to create meaningful outcomes in operational response mechanisms and to energise operational readiness networks and relationships across the Wellington region.
This requires someone with the initiative to create opportunities, not wait for them to be presented. You are an innovative and a lateral thinker and, if required, work under pressure in an operational setting as a response manager. One of your strengths is enabling others to succeed. This is the rare job that allows you to make a real difference in the Wellington region preparedness for an emergency.
As part of the Operational Readiness Team, you will be home based in our Lower Hutt office with shared work in the Wellington CBD. This is a permanent full time position with shared use of a vehicle.
