The Capability Development Advisor at the Wellington Region Emergency Management Office supports and assists in the development and implementation of the Wellington CDEM Group Capability Development (Skilled People) Strategy.


We would love to hear from you if you have

  • Experience planning and leading Capability Development (Skilled People) initiatives within the CDEM or a similar sector;
  • Experience with learning management systems;
  • Experience turning training content into various training mediums such as online modules, videos and PowerPoint presentations;
  • Experience in the delivery of training modules to adults.
  • High level of organisational skills to manage complex calendars of events and bookings across;
  • Demonstrated ability to absorb information, analyse situations, take advice, formulate strategies and plans, then implement and evaluate outcomes;
  • Experience in Emergency/Response Management or a related environment;
  • Experience in a high performing organisation or team characterised by good planning, systems, and achievement;
  • Success at building effective relationships with staff and key stakeholders designed to harness the synergies that come with partnership;
  • Strong presentation, negotiation, motivation and advocacy skills; Proven experience leading a concept through to delivery;
  • Extensive skill in the use of Microsoft Office suite; and,
  • Good people leadership skills.
