We are looking for a motivated and systematic person to join our team, leading the excellent experience we provide to our customers through the Environment Helpline and the ‘notifications@gw' mailbox, and support the department in keeping the consenting database (Ozone) up to date.

You will be part of a team who manage a variety of RMA consenting work – providing you plenty of opportunities to learn about the entire resource consent process, from pre- application advice right through to compliance and enforcement. You will also work with the Customer Contact Centre, Records and Administration teams in supporting the flow of information and documents through GWRC.

As an engaging and articulate communicator, you will be adept at balancing the interests of a wide range of customers and stakeholders to respond to their enquiries and get assistance with resolving issues.  Naturally, you will be a skilled database user, a filing-fanatic, and GIS experience would be an advantage. 

 

To succeed in this role you will have:

  • An interest in the RMA and planning disciplines
  • experience working with councils, central government, private practice/consulting firms, community groups, iwi or volunteers
  • a collaborative working style
  • excellent interpersonal, engagement and relationship-management skills
  • the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently, to prioritise competing commitments and proactively manage customer expectations
  • a proven track record of successfully delivering to customers.
