Our Public Transport group is looking for a Fixed Asset Adviser to join our Rail Operations Team.

The role of the Public Transport Group is to plan, develop, promote and deliver public transport services and supporting infrastructure in the Wellington Region.

The Fixed Assets Adviser is an entry level - intermediate role which will be responsible for assisting with management of all Greater Wellington Regional Council's fixed rail assets (station buildings, maintenance depot, foot bridges, car parks, security systems, etc) in accordance with Asset Management Plans and Strategies.  This involves managing contractors to undertake the general maintenance, cleaning, renewal, replacement, and upgrade of fixed assets, whilst maintaining knowledge of asset condition and performance.

To be successful in this role you will need:

  • Proven fixed asset experience and knowledge
  • Demonstrable understanding of asset management, structures and utilities, as well as administrative processes and procedures
  • Well defined analytical and problem solving skills, with the ability to work well with minimal supervision
  • Knowledge of contracts and the management of contracts

 

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal with the ability to target communication to the audience at hand
  • A good understanding of the importance of building and maintaining positive working relationships, both internally and externally with stakeholders
  • An enthusiastic and cheerful approach to work, even when under pressure
  • Previous experience with Maintenance Management Information Systems, in particular SAP would be advantage
