The Strategic Advisor has an essential role to help shape the future of the Greater Wellington region, by providing advice and thought leadership, developing strategic policies and building strong working relationships in strategic projects, including, but not limited to transport, environment and economic development.

 

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Proven experience developing and implementing strategies, policies and plans
  • Innovative and strategic thinking skills
  • The ability to build relationships and partner with others to create mutually beneficial outcomes
  • Experience with interpreting legislation and knowledge of public policy
  • Excellent research skills with a knack for synthesising and communicating complex information to a broad readership
  • A relevant tertiary qualification, such as public policy, law, economics, or environmental planning.

 

The Strategic Advisor sits within our Strategic and Corporate Planning Department which leads strategic and corporate policy for the organisation. The department leads organisational strategy, corporate planning and reporting, climate change strategy, regional parks planning and the region's economic development activity.
