Capital Project Manager (Bus), Metlink's Bus Infrastructure Team

Permanent opportunity in central Wellington

Do you want to be involved in public transport and making our region a great place to live? Have you proven experience in planning, managing and implementing major capital works programmes to deliver the best service for our customers?

If so, we have a great opportunity for you to join our Bus Infrastructure Team. This is an exciting time to join us as you'll be part of the team helping to provide modern, accessible, quality and safe public transport infrastructure for our bus customers across the Wellington region.

The Capital Project Manager is responsible for developing and managing the Bus Infrastructure Team's major capital works programme and ensuring it aligns with customer and operational requirements.

You will be working with communities, stakeholders, and contractors to design and implement infrastructure changes.


To succeed in this role you will need: 

  • Procurement, contract and project management qualification with at least five years' experience in a relevant role
  • Experience delivering capital projects in a multi-party complex environment
  • Civil engineering, transport or traffic engineering experience desirable but not essential
  • High degree of experience in stakeholder and community engagement
  • Clear, articulate communication skills
  • Well defined analytical and problem solving skills
