Marketing and Communications Key Account Manager, Strategy needed to join our Customer Engagement team

About the role

Our Customer Engagement team is looking for an experienced marketing and communications practitioner to partner with Greater Wellington's Strategy Group.  The Strategy Group takes a long-term view and ensures that we are working with communities and stakeholders to make the best decisions about the future of the region.  This is a large, complex account and you'll use your strong influencing and negotiation skills to connect dots across the account, provide strategic communications and marketing advice, and create and implement end-to-end communication and engagement plans.  You'll lead the development and implementation of a Customer Engagement plan for the account, which will have a strong focus on corporate and strategic planning, community consultation, and climate change.

You'll help shape the future of the Greater Wellington region by partner with the Strategy Group to:

  • champion the customer's voice internally and manage the development and delivery of insights-driven marketing and communication strategies and plans for key pieces of work such as Climate Change, the Long Term Plan, Annual Report and Regional Land Transport Plan. 
  • identify reputational risks and opportunities and associated workflow management 
  • bring our account management model systems and processes to life in the Strategy account
  • be recognized as a high performing, strategic partner with a strong relationship, planning and delivery focus.

 

A bit about you

You'll have outstanding interpersonal and relationship management skills, be curious and not afraid to ask questions, and have a passion for the environment.  You'll have expertise and a proven track record in developing and delivering a customer-focussed, insights-driven marketing and communications strategy and solutions that span stakeholder, community and customer engagement.  You'll be known for your exceptional attention to detail and your ability to manage competing priorities and tight deadlines with a calm and considered approach.   Experience with local government corporate planning communications is preferred, but not essential.
