We have an exciting opportunity for an Executive Assistant to provide high level executive support to two of our general managers.

About the role

This role is one of several executive assistant positions working directly with our general manager/s, the Council Chair or the Chief Executive. This role is specifically to provide executive assistance to the general managers for Corporate Services and Te Hunga Whirwhiri groups.  

We are looking for an enthusiastic EA who is approachable, flexible and has a high level of personal integrity. This role offers a challenge, variety and ability to use your skills to juggle multiple demands. You will also work collaboratively with the other executive assistants to provide seamless support across the organisation.

Skills and experience required

  • Proven track record in an executive assistant role (ideally at a senior level) or equivalent.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and able to communicate effectively at all levels.
  • Good use and pronunciation of te reo Māori.
  • Ability to develop trust and credibility at the executive level.
  • Willingness to work in a flexible and dynamic environment.
  • Technologically savvy and able to learn and use multiple systems.
  • Strong commitment to achieving high standards and excellent results.
  • Commitment to providing a high level of customer service.
  • Ability to cope with competing demands and to prioritise when necessary.
  • Ability to recognise and provide for the needs and responsibilities of the organisation and the management team.
  • High degree of integrity and discretion.
  • Decisive, have sound judgment and common sense.
  • Knowledge of tikanga Māori.

 

A good understanding of local government and/or a political environment would also be an advantage
