We are looking for a GIS Specialist to join our dedicated and friendly ICT (Information and Communication Technology) Team. This role is permanent and full-time, based in our central Wellington office.
About the role:
We are looking for a specialist who is known as an excellent communicator. Someone who has the communication skills to ensure our stakeholders are excited about the possibilities that the data provides as you are. The successful candidate will ensure that our digital library of geographic maps is well managed and maintained. They will also need to ensure GW's geospatial data is able to meet a wide and growing variety of needs of our customers.
The GIS Specialist is a part of the Data & Information Management Team. Along with the other members of the GIS team, the GIS Specialist is responsible for providing support and shares responsibility on development of specific projects, developing mapping applications and tools, and delivering support & training to enable users of the data to derive the best value from GIS data sets.
To be successful in the role you will relish the opportunity to work as part of a dynamic team. The team will ensure that they manage GW's digital library of geographic maps, providing geospatial data analysis, developing mapping applications and tools, and delivering support & training to enable users of the data to derive the best value from GIS data sets.
