This is a senior leadership role where you can make a real difference to the economic future of the region. We are looking for an exceptional person to lead our relationships with the nine organisations owned or partly owned by Greater Wellington and to ensure they maximise the benefits for our regional community.
About the role
The Strategy Group (approx 40 staff) leads the strategic direction of the organisation through delivering cross-organisation strategy and planning, providing advice, monitoring and reporting, and by leading the thinking and providing an evidence base to support decisions on the big regional issues and projects.
We are looking for someone who has considerable management experience and who is strongly focussed on building relationships. Your role will include regular contact with chief executives and board chairs and you will have the ability to work with and influence others.
If you take a strategic overview of a situation, identify the key areas of focus and follow this up with targeted action, this could be the role for you.
You will bring your passion for aligning work programmes to achieve long-term outcomes, supporting others and considering solutions from a customer perspective.
About Greater Wellington:
Every day we put all our energy into protecting and enhancing our region. We carefully balance sustainability with economic growth and protection with expansion.

It's about dealing with today and planning for the future, especially with the challenges of climate change.
What we offer:
We're all about growing our people through professional development and experience across everything the council does and we provide a range of benefits that help our staff balance their own lifestyle and work commitments:
