We're looking for a Team Leader to join our dedicated and committed Community Resilience Team.

About the role:

This purpose of this role is to support the Manager, Community Resilience and Recovery by leading the Community Resilience (CR) team. The CR teams' purpose is to work with a range of partners and key stakeholders to deliver the outcomes set out in the Wellington CDEM Group Plan and WREMO's Annual Plan.

The Team Leader CR is responsible for supporting the CR team on a day-to-day basis across the full range of work programmes, projects, plans and initiatives by providing advice, guidance, direction, expertise and support to the team in a timely, professional and effective manner.

Skills and experience required:

  • Exceptional people leadership skills and experience (at times in high tempo and dynamic environments).
  • Significant experience in community development and community resilience initiatives within the CDEM or a similar sector.
  • Demonstrated ability to absorb information, analyse situations, take advice, formulate strategies and plans, then implement and evaluate outcomes.
  • Capable of leading in ambiguity and to switch leadership style depending on situation.
  • Proven experience leading a concept through to delivery.
  • Demonstrated success at building effective relationships with staff and key stakeholders designed to harness the synergies that come with partnership.
  • Strong presentation, negotiation, motivation, and advocacy skills.
  • Outstanding personal organisation skills and a proactive approach to everything you do; and
  • Robust personal resilience with the ability to remain calm and lead others in times of crisis.

 

About WREMO and Greater Wellington:

The Wellington Regional Emergency Management Office (WREMO) is a semi-autonomous body, administered by the Greater Wellington Regional Council, tasked with leading and coordinating the effective delivery of Civil Defence Emergency Management on behalf of the region's nine councils.
