About the role:

In the role of Business Support Coordinator you will be pivotal in supporting GWRC business teams and departments with a wide range of administration and business support. Being customer centric you will be comfortable communicating with people at all levels, including liaising with our field staff and members of the public. This is a diverse role and activities can change on a daily basis due to business requirements so you'll need to be happy to go with the flow whilst delivering your must do activities each day.

We are committed to appointing someone that shows real potential. We offer a supportive work environment with challenging/varied work, with the opportunity to further develop within an experienced team.

Skills and experience required:

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Previous experience in an administration role
  • Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Proficient in learning new technology and systems
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Clear, confident written and verbal communication skills
  • A customer centric focus with proven ability to build relationships with both internal and external customers
  • A true team player who is willing to work alongside the team and the wider group
  • Enthusiasm, cheerfulness and a can do attitude even when under pressure

What we offer:

We're all about growing our people through professional development and experience across everything the council does and we provide a range of benefits that help our staff balance their own lifestyle and work commitments:

  • Generous leave allowance
  • Flexible working
  • Medical and trauma insurance
  • “Dress for your day”
  • Subsidised social clubs

About Greater Wellington:

Every day we put all our energy into protecting and enhancing our region. We carefully balance sustainability with economic growth and protection with expansion.

We're a growing and diverse region, and it's our role to protect our environment while also meeting the cultural, social and economic needs of our communities. We're specifically responsible for environment management, flood protection and land management, provision of regional parks, public transport planning and funding, and metropolitan water supply.

It's about dealing with today and planning for the future, especially with the challenges of climate change.
