Help us redevelop the former Power House building into a day visitor centre and a sheltered place where the interesting and varied stories of Baring Head/ Orua Pouanui can be revealed.

Baring Head is a special place. The landscape is dramatic and there is a lot to discover here – iwi and early settler and defence history, maritime navigation stories (lighthouse keeping and ship wrecks), current NIWA and GNS work, geology and ecology stories.
