The Rimutaka Ranges northeast of Upper Hutt divide the Hutt Valley from
the Wairarapa Plains. Most of the land on the western side is managed by
the Wellington Regional Council, while the Department of Conservation
administers land on the eastern side. The Rimutaka Hill Road (State
Highway 2) between Upper Hutt and Featherston crosses the northern
end of the ranges.
This brochure outlines mountain bike tracks, history and how to get there
