This newsletter discusses the non-structural measures that may affect the
community directly. It includes the things people can do in anticipation of a
big flood to protect property, improve the safety of their family and
minimise threats to their livelihood. Non-structural measures are really
important and are recognised internationally as appropriate ways to
manage flooding.
