Logging

Transpower contractors will be operating in Puketiro/Hydro Valley.

Northpower pylon refurbishment will resume along Hydro Valley and Hydro Road.

Fire danger

There are to be no fires lit and no cigarette smoking within the exotic forest estate. Any fires need to be reported to the Forest360 forest manager immediately after calling 111.

Puketiro Forest

• Please note the radio frequency in this forest. All users must have FOMS1 for communicating.
• Harvesting operations are ongoing at Battle Hill. Currently the southern loop (Orange Street)is completely off limits to recreational use.  The northern loop (Brentford Road) is open for weekend recreational use only.

Maungakotukutuku Forest

• Logging operations are underway in Maungakotukutuku Forest.  No weekday access to this forest.

Valley View Forest

• Radio communication on these roads at all times. All users must have FOMS1 for communicating.
• Thinning operations are ongoing in Beech Spur, the Lindsays and Boiler Gully areas. Operational signage in place. Expect road closures in here when roadside trees are felled.
• Logging trucks are on the Valley View Road during operational hours from Jan 2025 until further notice.
