Please provide all information (including but not limited to agendas, briefing papers,
analyses, file notes, reports, meeting minutes or notes, and memoranda, but
excluding communications, meeting notes or minutes, records of telephone calls and
any electronic communications via email, SMS, messaging apps e.g. WhatsApp)
relating to:
The moratorium between Wellington Water and Veolia on "further fines and breach
notices" that was commenced info lowing the 2021 Review of Regional WWTP -
specifically how this moratorium was communicated to Greater Wellington Regional
Council ('GWRC'), and the information GWRC has on this matter.
The 2019 litigation between GWRC and Wellington Water for the illegal discharge of
wastewater from the Porirua Wastewater Treatment Plant (case reference [2019] NZDC
18588). Please provide information about the penalty of $67,500 fined to Wellington
Water, how and when that fine was paid, and who that was paid by. Please also provide
information relating to Veolia's role, if any, in regards to that fine.
Efforts since 4 February 2026, and future planned efforts, by GWRC to monitor and
mitigate the environmental impact of the wastewater discharge.”
