Join us between 9am and 11am at Mills Street Stopbank for a firsthand look at the completed first stage of the stopbank upgrade. This is your opportunity to ask questions, learn about our flood defence work as part of Te Wai Takamori o Te Awa Kairangi.
Gates open at 9am, last entry is 10:45am and the site closes at 11am sharp. You can enter from beneath the Melling bridge (from the Riverbank Car Park), or from Mills Street.
Caution is advised. You will be entering a construction site, please enter at your own risk. When you have arrive please follow instructions of the marshals and avoid restricted areas.
- Wear sturdy shoes, the ground will be uneven and potentially wet.
- Dogs are welcome but must be on lead at all times.
- Cycling is NOT allowed. You may walk your bike into the area, but no cycling. This is due to the uneven terrain, and to protect the new grass.
- Prams and pushchairs: While prams and pushchairs are permitted, please note that the site may not be fully accommodating for them.
- No toilets or rubbish bins available.
- Parking available at Riverbank Car Park.
- Event will proceed even in bad weather.
